Finally, after multiple postponements, we are getting married on Monday 30 December in Copenhagen, Denmark.

 

The Marriage Ceremony

We are schedule to get married at 10.10 am on Monday 30 December at Copenhagen City Hall. It's a 21 minute walk from the Tivoli Hotel where most people are staying, or 7 minutes by car. 

 

Accommodation

Most people are staying at the Tivoli Hotel, which is also known as the Tivoli Hotel and Congress Centre. You can get to the hotel by taxi or pubic transport, see here for an explanation of transport options. The hotel has a swimming pool, so don't forget your costumes. You do not need to book the swimming pool. The hotel can organise massages but I don't suppose they will be cheap.  

 

Tivoli Gardens

The wedding lunch will take place in Tivoli Gardens, which is one of the main attractions in Copenhagen.. There is an entrance fee for  Tivoli Gardens but 1 free entry in included with the hotel package for those staying at the Tivoli Hotel. If you want to go a second time, you need to pay.

• Italian flight arrives at 16.35 hrs
• UK flight arrives at 18.50 hrs
• Transfer to the Tivoli Hotel by taxi or public transport (Transport Options to Hotel)
• Dinner at the Tivoli Brasserie, at the Tivoli Hotel.

 

Sunday, 29 December 2024

• - Breakfast is served until 10.30 hrs
• - Latvia flight arrives at 11.25 am (see above for transport options)
• - Explore Copenhagen at your own leisure.
• - If the weather is good, see City Hall Square, the picturesque Nyhavn harbour, the Little Mermaid Statue and Amalienborg and Rosenborg castles.
• If it is raining, check out Magasin du Nord and Torvehallerne Food Hall.
• The kids may enjoy the Rasmus Klump Playground, the playground at Danish Architectural Centre, Ice Skating at Broens Skøjtebane or the Lego Shop.
• Dinner near the hotel at 19.00 hrs (restaurant TBC)

 

 

Monday, 30 December 2024 – Marriage Day!

• Margot and Rob leave the hotel at 08.45 hrs to register at city hall at 09.00.
• Everyone else meet at City Hall at 09.50.
• The ceremony will take place at 10.10 hrs.
• After the ceremony, walk across the road to Tivoli Gardens for photos in the gardens whist the Children play on the rides.
• The wedding Lunch will be from 12.30 hrs to 1600 hrs at Nimb Brasserie. This is inside the Tivoli Gardens
• After the lunch we will return to the hotel for kids to play, etc.

Tuesday 31 December 2024

• Margot’s family leave at 11.15 am to Rome
• Afternoon activities TBC
• Dinner with the kids at around 7pm.
• NYE dinner at 9pm until late

 

Wednesday 1 January 2025

• Margot, Rob, Emma, and Charlie depart at 15.15 hrs for Doha
